DLA: Dear Damien, why did you found LEMONWAY?
Damien Guermonprez: We founded Lemonway in 2007 to contribute to a trusted and agile economy that benefits everyone and is fit for future generations. We want to honor the trust they place in the digital world, regardless of how they contribute to the economy…as investors, donors, buyers and so on…

DLA: What exactly is the business model of LEMONWAY?
Damien Guermonprez: In today’s growing and fiercely competitive market, providing a streamlined payment experience is vital for platforms to boost conversion rates and ensure fundraising campaigns are a success. For investors, this means being able to choose their preferred payment method. And for fundraisers, this entails a seamless onboarding experience, and rapid and reliable pay-outs. Offering a robust, secure, and seamless payment experience is a surefire way to attract and retain users.
Thanks to a payment institution license, Lemonway delivers a comprehensive payment and KYC solution to serve all marketplaces and alternative finance platforms. Our offer includes payment processing, wallet management and thirdparty payments with robust anti-money laundering (AML) and customer verification (KYC) capabilities. More than just a service provider, our comprehensive service offerings make us a pivotal player giving a competitive edge to alternative finance platforms.
DLA: Why was it important for you to become a member of our association?
Damien Guermonprez: The European alternative finance market grew by 17% between 2021 and 2022. It is poised for growth, driven by regulatory improvements, technological advancements and strategic collaborations. These trends are creating a more dynamic and integrated alternative finance ecosystem across Europe.
Joining the DLA would provide Lemonway with a platform to contribute to the advancement of digital lending across Europe. We believe our expertise and experience in the payment industry will be a valuable addition to the association. Our contributions to the DLA will include:
- Innovation and Technology: Lemonway will bring its technical know-how to the DLA, sharing insights on secure
payment processing, regulatory compliance, and transaction management. - Thought Leadership: We aim to participate actively in DLA’s initiatives, offering thought leadership on topics
such as payment innovations, risk management, and customer-centric financial solutions. - Collaborative Projects: Lemonway is eager to collaborate on projects that promote the digital lending
ecosystem, leveraging our extensive network and resources to drive collective success.
Lemonway is excited about the prospect of joining the Digital Lending Association and contributing to its mission of fostering a vibrant, innovative, and secure Digital Lending landscape in Europe.
