DLA: Why did you found Kredo when there are already SME financing options in Switzerland?
Lucas Wüst: In reality, what’s offered to SMEs is more of an obstacle course than real support. After 20 years in banking, I’ve seen first-hand how SMEs are often left alone to face complex and urgent financial challenges, without tailored advice or responsive solutions. What has always impressed me about entrepreneurs is their resilience, but too often they lack a real partner who matches their ambitions and needs. With Kredo, our goal is to bring truly bespoke advice and the kind of speed and execution that makes a difference. Kredo is for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs.
DLA: How does your business model work in practice?
Lucas Wüst: Our model is straightforward: we provide fast, seamless, and transparent access to financing for Swiss SMEs. We rely on the Kredo Debt Fund I, which is the first private debt fund fully dedicated to Swiss SMEs. This allows qualified investors to invest directly in the real economy. But we don’t stop there: for complex or atypical needs, we use our network of institutional and alternative lenders to build truly customized solutions. It’s about trust, real solutions, and delivering results.
DLA: What does joining the Digital Lending Association mean for you?
Lucas Wüst: For us, joining the Digital Lending Association is a way to be an active part of the European digital lending ecosystem, to engage with market leaders, and to make sure the voice of Swiss SMEs is heard at the European level. We want to contribute to innovation, help raise the standards of digital lending, and accelerate the adoption of responsible, efficient financial solutions – both in Switzerland and across Europe. It’s a collective commitment, and we believe progress comes from working together.
DLA: Thank you very much for the interview, Lucas. We really appreciate that Kredo are now part of our growing community.
